Jupiter entered the sign of Cancer today, June 9th, where it will stay for the next year. Jupiter is the planet of good luck, abundance, and expansion. Cancer, a water sign, represents our emotions, family, home, ancestry, and motherland.
This is a powerful time to lean into your family, home life, and inner self. The Jupiter transit will remind us that expansion, healing, and feeling secure all start within. From this inner foundation, those benefits will then ripple out into every other aspect of our lives. Jupiter in Cancer encourages us to look deeper within ourselves, explore profound emotions, and consciously find healthy, positive ways to heal any wounds that may surface.
It's quite interesting to have this transit now, given the global events and the unfortunate displacement many people are experiencing from places they once called "home." While some of us may not be directly affected, we are undoubtedly attuned to the pain of others, and this transit deepens our empathy.
The last time Jupiter was in Cancer was from June 25th, 2013, to July 16th, 2014. What themes emerged for you then?
I remember being deep in my college years during that time. Also, at the end of 2013, it was the first time I traveled outside the US since moving here, after receiving my green card. I actually stayed back in Europe for quite some time in the winter and summer of 2014 (Jupiter was transiting my Mars in Cancer and 9th house at the time, and the 9th house symbolizes long-distance travel, higher education, philosophy, and new ideas).
Then, on June 11th, we'll experience a Sagittarius Full Moon. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, which will magnify the expansive energy of Jupiter in Cancer even more. Some of us might receive exciting news and rewards for past efforts (within +/- 5 days of the Full Moon). Others will have a moment of revelation or truth come to the surface. Are there any outdated beliefs you need to release? These days will also be excellent for venturing out on a getaway or signing up for a new class to broaden your horizons.
Happy Jupiter and Full Moon transits!
